TEC To Host 75th Annual Meeting in Austin

July 15, 2015

Texas Electric Cooperatives invites the staff and directors of its member cooperatives to commemorate their statewide association’s 75th anniversary at the 2015 TEC Annual Meeting in Austin, Aug. 2–5.

Participants can learn, network and celebrate in style at the Renaissance Austin Hotel through special programming for this landmark event.

Directors can work toward their NRECA Board Leadership Certificates by attending one of two daylong workshops. TEC is also offering two leadership workshops this year instead of one.

At the 16th Annual Legislative Advocacy Golf Tournament, participants can aim for a hole-in-one while supporting the voice of cooperatives and rural Texans at the Legislature. The agenda also includes a recap of this year’s legislative session and a luncheon for Rural Friends/ACRE.

The action-packed program features speakers who will broach hot industry topics including solar power, battery storage, managing member unrest and global energy dynamics. An inspirational speaker and songwriter closes the general session with an intangible gift that participants can use at home.

At the exhibit hall during a lunch and reception, co-op people can visit with representatives from businesses relevant to the electric industry, including a strong lineup of TEC Business Alliance Partners.

To mark TEC’s 75th year of serving members, TEC is hosting the family-friendly Co-op Country Reception and Dinner, which features live music, dancing, games and prizes, all with a co-op twist. Other highlights include a 75th anniversary cookie break, TEC Showcase, Co-op History Display, TREWA Craft Show, Sale and Raffle and Spouse Program.
