TEC Staff Celebrates 75th Anniversary

To celebrate Texas Electric Cooperative’s 75th anniversary, the statewide association hosted a picnic April 18 for its employees and their families.

Nearly 300 employees and family members participated in a day of games, including tug of war, potato sack relay and water balloon toss, as well as outdoor activities at the Reunion Ranch in Georgetown.

“I was humbled to stand before the employees and thank them for their dedication to this organization,” said TEC President/CEO Mike Williams, who helped serve the barbecue lunch. “No matter the tenure, department or office location, without each and every one of them our successes would not be possible.”

TEC’s employees serve the associations members from all over the state, and the picnic presented a rare opportunity for employees to come together.

“I cannot express how nice it was to meet some of the people that we work with and talk to almost daily but have never met face to face,” said Billy Caldwell of TEC’s Treating Department in East Texas.
