TEC Creates Co-op Purpose 101 Class

January 13, 2014

January marked the debut of Texas Electric Cooperative’s “Co-op Purpose 101,” a training module that pairs co-op fundamentals with heritage and aspiration in a way that can inspire and motivate all electric cooperative employees.

The pilot program, offered to co-op employees from co-ops across the state, is original TEC curriculum that showcases lessons from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s 21st Century Committee report, highlights co-op legacy and builds pride in the co-op model.

TEC President and CEO Mike Williams said electric co-ops face many challenges and nontraditional competitors. Focusing on the cooperative purpose will ensure member loyalty, which is crucial to continued co-op success.
