North and Northeast Texas Hit Hard by Winter Storm

December 6, 2013

According to the Texas Division of Emergency Management Friday morning, the winter storm that moved into western North Texas yesterday afternoon has had the greatest impact along the Interstate 20 and Interstate 30 corridors and has affected nearly all of the remainder of North and Central Texas during the overnight hours. The worst impacts have occurred in the counties along and close to the Red River as well as the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

Texas electric cooperatives across much of north and northeastern Texas are experiencing widespread weather-related outages. Cooperatives hardest hit include those serving areas around Dallas-Fort Worth extending north to the Oklahoma border and along the Red River into Arkansas.
