Highlights of the 2017 TEC Loss Control Conference

Texas Electric Cooperative’s 71st Annual Loss Control Conference featured myriad celebrations of safety success stories and offered discussions about accident investigations, encounters with aggressive dogs and distracted driving.
Four employees of electric co-ops won Lifesaving Awards. United Cooperative Services won an award for reaching 1 million man-hours without a lost-time incident. More than 100 employees won awards for working at least 30 years without a lost-time incident.
The 429 attendees of the conference, March 21–24 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel, also participated in a trade show featuring 37 exhibitors and an auction to raise money for the TEC Loss Control Scholarship fund. Proceeds from the auction, a golf tournament and merchandise sale totaled $43,241.
