The goal of the Lineman Apprenticeship Program is to combine current and prior* on-the-job work experience, classroom and hands-on training that will serve to standardize and qualify Lineman Apprentices' skill sets upon the completion of the terms of apprenticeship within the Cooperative electric utility industry in Texas, as outlined by the U.S. Department of Labor.
The terms and Program Standards are divided into 5 levels distributed over an 8000 hour and minimum 4 year period of apprenticeships:
Year One
Year Two
Year Three
Year Four
You must be a current employee of a member Cooperative of Texas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (TEC) and accepted by the "Apprentice Sponsor" before beginning the Lineman Apprenticeship Program.
