Solar System Installed at TEC Facility

Texas Electric Cooperatives energized a 5-kilowatt solar array at its Georgetown training facility April 27. The system, purchased from BEC Solar LLC, a subsidiary of Bandera EC, provides an opportunity for electric cooperative employees who attend workshops in Georgetown to learn about solar installations.

A component of the array is its cloud-based software, Apolloware, which allows the owner to monitor consumption, production and pricing in real time. It also enables utilities to aggregate solar installations throughout their systems and use that information to sell back into the wholesale market.

“The system will provide visitors to our Georgetown training facility an opportunity to learn more about solar, the software and what it can do for their cooperative,” explains Archie Lopez, TEC director of strategic initiatives.
