Electric Cooperatives Send Texas Students to D.C. for 50th Government-in-Action Youth Tour

One hundred-twenty high school students from across Texas traveled to Washington, D.C., June 13 to join more than 1,600 other students from around the nation for the 2014 Government-in-Action Youth Tour. The national event celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Students on the Youth Tour participate in leadership training, engage in one-on-one conversations with elected officials, jumpstart their national peer network and tour Washington, D.C.
Youth Tour has taken high school students to Washington, D.C., for the past 50 years. Students apply and are selected for this program by their local electric cooperatives. Nearly 50,000 students have participated in the Youth Tour since its inception. For more information, visit youthtour.coop.
