2013 Loss Control Conference

Texas Electric Cooperatives broke attendance records, raised a record amount of scholarship money and delivered ramped-up curriculum during the 2013 Loss Control Conference held March 20-22 at the Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort in San Antonio.
More than 400 registrants participated in conference events, including a golf tournament and auction, which raised a combined total of $28,850 for the Loss Control Scholarship Program; a recap of the safety training division's 2012 operations; a trade show with 30 exhibitors; and presentations by industry and motivational speakers.
Loss Control Manager Danny Williams was master of ceremonies at an awards presentation ceremony that crowned the conference. The event honored organizations and individuals for achievements in safety accreditation and no lost time, gave special recognition for safety achievements and lifesaving acts. Additionally, the Unsung Hero Award went to a co-op employee who went above and beyond to help TEC, the co-op and the community; and the Ray Pantel Meritorious Service Award—named after a man who was instrumental in establishing Texas' safety and training culture—went to a co-op employee who has exemplified dedicated and capable service to the Loss Control Program.
